About Digital Innovation in Circular Economy

Transforming Circular Economy SMEs Through Digital Innovation

DICE Africa is a regional project driving the adoption of digital solutions in circular economy SME clusters across West Africa.

Supported by IDRC Canada and implemented by the Nigeria Climate Innovation Center (NCIC), the project empowers SMEs in Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal, and Côte d’Ivoire to scale sustainably, access climate finance, and create green jobs.

By focusing on digital innovation, inclusive growth, and gender empowerment, DICE Africa is laying the groundwork for Africa’s transition to a more resilient and low-carbon economy.

Nigeria

The DICE Africa Inception Meeting in Nigeria (Oct 2025, Lagos) launched a project to boost digital innovation in Africa’s circular economy. Leaders emphasized sustainability, inclusivity, and SME empowerment through digital transformation and finance. The event positioned DICE Africa as a driver of sustainable growth.

Ghana

Ghana is positioning itself as West Africa’s hub for circular economy, blending digital innovation, waste transformation, and inclusive growth. Supported by DICE Africa, regional SME clusters in Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal, and Côte d’Ivoire scale sustainably, access climate finance, and create green jobs

Senegal

Senegal advances circular economy with Law 20-20, strong legislative foundations, and a 400M CFA investment. It integrates digital innovation, empowers SMEs, and fosters inclusive growth, positioning itself as West Africa’s strategic hub for sustainable development.

Côte d’Ivoire

Côte d’Ivoire is embedding sustainability into national policy, using digital innovation to drive circular economy growth. It prioritizes SMEs, youth, and women, while building financing pathways and partnerships. Positioned as West Africa’s green innovation hub, it aims to scale resilience and create inclusive green jobs.
